Carbon Zero

Costa Rica is expected to be the first carbon-neutral nation in the world. This means that it will repay to nature everything that it takes from it, meaning it will be living in a total balance with nature. For every ton of CO2 Costa Rica produces, it will have the amount of trees to absorb that CO2 meaning it wont have a negative impact on nature. By becoming the first carbon-neutral nation in the world, it will also become an example for other countries to follow, in order to live more peacefully with nature

The Costarican sub-20 team

The Costa Rican sub-20 team is among the top 3 in the sub-20 category worldwide. It disputed the sub-20 world cup and finished third. Its quickly becoming famous due to its now famous game against Argentina. Costa Rica disputed a game against Argentina, the major team, and decided to use its sub-20 team. The sub-20 team had Maradona praying until the very end of the game, where Argentina barely won with a 3-2 score.

Presidential elections

On the first week of february, Costa Rica had its presidential elections. The spot for president was mainly being disputed by 4 major candidates:

+ Laura Chinchilla: she is part of the PLN party, its a center/right party. She had the most percentage of support and was the leading candidate. Some people didnt like her because she has the support of the current president and people thought her presidency was going to be the same as this one (even though the actual president is one of the best Costa Rica has had). She won the elections.

+ Otto Guevara: leader of the ML party, an extreme right party. This was his 4th presidential race, he had lost all the other ones. He experienced lots of support this time because people were dissapointed by the other candidates. He is very controversial because of his ideas.

+ Otton Solis: leader and founder of the PAC party, a left party. This was his 3rd presidential race.

+ Luis Fishman: member of the PUSC party, a center/left party. His slogan was: "I'm the least bad". He said several times that if all politicians were bad, he was the least bad of them. He obviously finished last.
